In October, traffic from mobile drove the largest portion of visitors to eCommerce sites, at 73% – this is a 1% spike from September. In general, over the past twelve months, traffic from mobile made up 70.92% of overall visitors, with 27.17% coming from desktop, and 1.92% from tablet.
The biggest surge in MoM traffic came in October from Multi-Brand Retail, with 20.74% more visitors. In general, Fashion, Accessories, and Apparel saw the largest increase in traffic, at 0.569% while Food & Beverage saw the steepest decline at 0.015%.
Lastly, mobile drew the largest number of new users at 67%, and mobile generated the highest percentage of returning visitors, at 75%.
Major trends noticed:
Fashion, Accessories, and Apparel — rose by 16.06% in device usage, from 264,126,105 in September to 310,256,264 in October.
Luxury & Jewelry — rose by 10.03% in device usage, from 21,304,847 in September to 23,553,802 in October.
Food & Beverage — rose by 14.52% in device usage, from 5,649,550 in September to 6,533,913 in October.
Multi-Brand Retail — rose by 20.74% in device usage, from 86,705,395 in September to 106,766,602 in October.
