Device usage statistics

In October, traffic from mobile drove the largest portion of visitors to eCommerce sites, at 73% – this is a 1% spike from September. In general, over the past twelve months, traffic from mobile made up 70.58% of overall visitors, with 27.42% coming from desktop, and 2% from tablet.

The biggest surge in MoM traffic came in October from Pet Care & Veterinary Services, with 35.6% more visitors. In general, Fashion, Accessories, and Apparel saw the largest increase in traffic, at 0.646% while Food & Beverage saw the steepest decline at 0.006%.

Lastly, mobile drew the largest number of new users at 66%, and mobile generated the highest percentage of returning visitors, at 74%.

Major trends noticed:

Home & Furniture — rose by 10.63% in device usage, from 43,950,510 in September to 48,883,137 in October.

Luxury & Jewelry — rose by 13.56% in device usage, from 48,354,811 in September to 55,387,460 in October.

Pet Care & Veterinary Services — rose by 35.6% in device usage, from 5,527,092 in September to 7,921,100 in October.

Food & Beverage — rose by 15.01% in device usage, from 3,437,843 in September to 3,995,779 in October.
